Aerodynamics

As purchased...

The S30 chassis is known to flow air about as well as a brick, by today's modern standards . Sure, it was great 30+ years ago, but the human race has actually progressed a little in this area and I hope to try to capitilize on it.

The most significant disability in this field is the presence of front-end lift, caused primarily by the engine bay catching large quantities of air and not being able to get rid of it, thus serving as a parachute and lifting the front end up. Not only is scary because your front tires no longer have any load on them, but the tremendous amount of drag will also slow the car down. I will be focusing on eliminating this effect, producing more downforce (on both ends of the car), and also making the car more slippery in general.

Projects Performed:

Vented Inspection Lids

Whale Tail

Hood Vents

Front bumper

Front lip

Front air dam

Current Status

Hood vents are installed and vented inspection covers are mocked up and ready for paint and mesh installation.
