I acquired this car as part of a trade when I was getting rid of my 91 Supra. The previous owner was my friend Rex and he had installed a Infiniti J30 LSD and some Z32 brakes, as well as a short shift kit. Nearly all of these mods were transferred over to my 91 hatchback. The original engine was having problems, so I rebuilt a spare KA and swapped that in. The guy that I sold it was an absolute moron and despite the fact that I told him it was having cooling issues and that he should tow it home if he could, he insisted on driving it 3 hours and it apparently ignored the temp needle the whole way. He called me later and informed me that the head was warped and somehow thought he deserved his money back, despite the as-is bill of sale and the fact that I disclosed the cooling issues . Unfortunately, I was still a trusting soul (read: young and stupid) at that point and had accepted a check in partial payment for the car, so he withdrew the remaining money in his bank and the check bounced. I called repeatedly, eventually filed with the court and had a judgement placed against him (he didn't even come to court), but I never saw any of the money from his check. My only consolation is that the judgement should show up on his record for a while and that I have no doubt that karma will come around for him someday. |
